Steeped in history and heritage, Nairn and the surrounding area has something for everyone. Recognised by Dr. John Grigor in Victorian times for its dry, mild climate, Nairn revels in the title “Brighton of the North”. With one of the UK’s highest sunshine records and lowest rainfall counts, the myriad of things to see and do can be absorbed in comfort.
From Cawdor Castle, Shakespeare’s Thane in Macbeth and ancient seat of the Kings of Scotland to Culloden Battlefield, scene of Britain’s last mainland battle in 1746 between Bonnie Prince Charlie and the Duke of Cumberland, there is much to fill your day.
